A little more info to help you choose...

Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a body work therapy originating in Japan, with roots in Chinese Medicine.
Using compassionate and mindful touch the practitioner uses a variety of hands on techniques- thumb, palm and finger pressure, connection with acupressure points, gentle manipulation, and stretches to re-energise weak areas and reduce tension in the body.
This work connects with the body's systems such as the nervous, circulatory and respiratory systems to support self-healing, and promote a feeling of well-being and relaxation.
Shiatsu is done with the receiver fully clothed, on a comfy futon at floor level. A therapy couch can also be used for anyone finding it difficult to lie on the floor.
Before the session Jayne will talk to you about any current health issues, and what you would like from the session, which could include things like relief from shoulder tension, wanting to feel more energy, or more relaxed. You may have unresolved grief, or are feeling stuck and frustrated in life.
Often people come for a few sessions initially and then on a monthly, or less frequent basis for health promotion.
The session usually lasts around an hour including an initial chat - allow 75 mins the first session.

Reflexology
Reflexology is a very popular service.
Combine it with Indian Head Massage for a 60 minute session, or add full reflexology for a 75 minute session to enhance your feeling of wellbeing.
Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy for feet or hands that can be deeply relaxing for both body and mind.
Pressure is applied to the feet or hands through massage, based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body. By massaging these areas it can connect with a particular part of the body, for example stomach, heart, spine, head, neck- by massaging around the base of the big toe it can help release tension in the neck.
People often come for reflexology for relaxation, stress relief, release of muscle tension, or self-care.
Before the session Jayne will ask you about any current health issues, and also what you would like from the session. The session usually lasts about 55-60 minutes - slightly longer for a first session.
Where does it come from?
The art of Reflexology is thought to have been practised in Ancient Egypt, India & China. Dr William Fitzgerald developed 'Zone Therapy' and brought it to the West in early 1900's, and then Dr Eunice Ingham further developed the work into what is now called Reflexology.

Indian Head Massage
Indian head massage derives from an Indian healing system called Ayurveda and can include, neck, shoulder & upper back, and face massage.
Combine a 40 minute Indian head massage with a foot massage for a 1 hour treatment, or a full reflexology session lasting 75 minutes
Ayurveda is a whole body (holistic) system of medicine that began in India more than 3,000 years ago and is based on the belief that each person has certain life forces (doshas) which can become imbalanced due to stress, life circumstances or illness for example. Indian head massage can help restore balance leading to improved health and overall wellbeing. Indian head massage can help relieve headaches, shoulder tension, neck problems, anxiety, insomnia and assist with lymph drainage.
Reiki
Reiki means universal life energy - It is the energy that flows through all living things. Life force flows though every part of our body and is what makes our heart beat, and enables our thoughts, feelings and actions. This energy is available to everyone - you can feel it in the warmth of someone's smile as you walk into a room, or feel the lack of it when you have the 'flu!
Reiki practitioners help guide the energy to where it is most needed, raising the vibration of your energy field where negative thoughts and feelings are attached - clearing and healing your energy field.
Reiki is spiritual in nature but is not aligned to any religion or dogma - the energy is available for all!
During a session you may start to feel warm/cool, or a tingling sensation, or perhaps see colours as the therapist moves their hands through a series of different positions. You may feel emotions come up to be released, or a deep feeling of relaxation in areas where energy stuck energy is now able to flow.
Your body takes the energy it needs to the places in your body you need as you relax and let go.
A reiki session lasts 45 minutes to an hour. You can combine it with any of my other therapies if you would like both body work and energy healing in your session.
